Holy-Ba-Jesus!!

I don't think I can even come up with the right words to describe the last two days in the crazy life of Holly....but I'll try my best.

Yesterday I spent most of my day driving around Houston looking at houses for rent. We are in the process of debating if its in our best interest right now to stay where we are at and get a roommate or find renters for our place and move into something cheaper...keeping it short, this economy SUCKS! I've recently fallen in love with an area of Houston called The Heights. If you don't know where that is try to look it up online for pictures, you'll see why. Adorable rows and rows of cute antique farm houses with huge front porches and big oak trees....absolutely gorgeous area...or so I thought. My GPS lead me to a little dingy area with a few houses that were falling apart and yards with old lazy boys in the front...I quickly decided this wasn't going to be the house for us and started to drive back home. As I'm pulling onto the main street from the neighborhood out of nowhere a brown SUV comes hauling ass around a side street and swerves right around me cutting through the parking lot across the street and then swerving back onto the road going at least 90 if not more! Speed bumps did nothing to slow this vehicle down! Not even seconds later 5 cop cars are right behind him...one stopping for a split second to roll down his window to yell at me if I was okay and then speeding off as I could only simply nod before realizing what just happened! We could have been killed! It took about 5 minutes for me to start driving again, by this point I saw the helicopter above us so I knew they would eventually get caught. But I'm taking that little experience as an omen from God that we weren't meant to be living in that house. Eventually my "nerbs" settled down and my mood was much more cheery....that was until....

You won't even believe this...only me...this could only happen to me!

My mom has a beauty shop as most of you know. She's always staying up there late at night cleaning and asked me to come up there tonight and help. We were just sitting there talking and dusting, vacuuming the floors and washing coloring bowls when all of a sudden I hear heavy breathing through the AC vent. I asked my Mom to turn off the water so I could hear what that noise was.
Mom: "Oh that's just Irma!"
Me: "What? Irma is dead Mom, why would you say that?"
Mom: "She sometimes turns the water on or pushes the hair blowers down, its not a big deal...why are you scared of ghosts?"
Me: "Uh, maybe because your ghosts sound like they are having sex!"

She gets quiet and goes to the vent and listens...sure enough she hears the "sex" too. Heavy breathing and panting...

Mom: "That's strange...must be the AC unit making noises"

We go on our business and start mopping...about 15 minutes later we hear music coming from the A/C unit. Indian music...soft but definitely music. We stop what we are doing and listen. I kept encouraging her to call the police because SOMEONE was in the A/C closet, I could just tell. But the music suddenly stopped. Not wanting to think we were absolutely crazy we go outside to the side of her building and see a closet door. Why I even tried to open it I don't know...very stupid of me but I did so and to my relief it was locked.

::::whispering::::
Mom: "I never lock that door, its never been locked...its too small for anyone to be in there."
Me: "CALL THE POLICE!"
Mom: "I'm gonna call the landlord first"

Landlord is on-site so he's there within 3 minutes. We meet him outside and are quietly standing around debating what we are going to do. We finally agreed to call the police before we use the key to unlock the door. Before the police show up a MAN opens the door and comes out. Bright orange shorts, a back pack and a open white shirt with a gallon of milk in hand, a sleeping bag and a half gallon of orange juice in the other. He was ready to party. The landlord yells at him to stop where he is at and remain there until the police get there but he just says "I was only trying to get out of this heat! I'm leaving" Mom yelled out "YEAH RIGHT, we HEARD what you were really doing!" He quickly runs off as Bobby chases him through the property while on the phone with dispatch. The police are still looking for him. Inside the closet was a cardboard box he had used to lay down underneath the A/C unit up on stilts and peep at us through the A/C vent as he...well ya know! Eh!!! What a night!

Between foot fetish freaks and masturbating closet cases....I don't know what it is about me that draws in such crazies! But like I said...holy-ba-jesus!!!

June Fun has begun!

So far June has been a pretty interesting month for us. Alot of traveling, a lot of sun, a lot of fun...and some other stuff mixed in between (but I won't go into that). A few weekends ago we had my sister's graduation and Jesse's cousin Courtney's wedding. One 4 1/2 drive to Lipan Texas on a Friday afternoon... a 3 hour drive to Austin Sat. morning...2 1/2 drive back to Houston on Sunday. I am sick to death of driving so I've been taking it easy at the house with the girls and only leaving for Farryn's swimming lessons Monday-Thursday for the next two weeks. She's getting so good at it too and I'm so proud of her. It started off a little rough, more so for me than her. I was kicked out of her swimming class. How you ask? Yeah...I wondered the same thing. I guess sometimes I come off a little "snarky". Farryn has a hang up about peeing in the water. Its something I find disgusting and I encourage her to always get out before she has any accidents. During her first day she really just had to go. Her teacher ignored her complaints and continued to dunk her head in the water repeatedly. Of course any child would make up an excuse to get out of the pool just for that but I knew she really needed to go because she was calling out for me to take her. I went to the edge of the pool and the teacher said very rudely "she's fine!" After Farryn insisted she couldn't hold it I asked Miss G. to bring her to me so I could take her. Miss G, didn't agree, Farryn starts crying and then finally she gives in. I take Farryn for her potty break and sure enough she really wasn't lying, she went for a good two minutes...still crying about how "MEAN that lady was!" When we got back to the pool she didn't want to get back in. She kept saying "She's mean mama, I don't like her!" Without really thinking I said "I know hunny, I know she's mean but she's got to teach you to swim"..."MEAN Ms. G" heard this and was not happy one bit with me. She said "Tomorrow don't come back! You can drop her off and wait in the lobby but you're not allowed back at the pool. She is too much of a Mama's girl and your daughter completely lacks confidence!" Now come on lady! Was that really necessary? It doesn't bother me if Farryn pees in the pool or not, I was only trying to do the SANITARY thing by taking her out. I don't see how taking 5 minutes of your sweet time really is that big of a deal but I guess that is where we disagreed. I didn't come back the next day, my grandmother took her. The third day however I did...and once again I was kicked out. ;) We're in the second week and I'm finally allowed back. Haha, I guess I better behave! So here are just a few pictures of this month so far.

I hate "self portraits" I think they are for the most part pathetic on the takers part but since I'm the one usually taking the pictures of others I thought I would try to get one of just me and Charlye together for a change...Charlye wasn't cooperating. I gave up.

Leave it to Farryn to be a goofball in a little family picture. I love this though so I just had to post!

And finally...I'm included in the picture! Thanks G-maw for taking this!

After the wedding ceremony the kid's went off to their own lil reception in a suite upstairs and the adults were able to enjoy themselves. It was such a blast! Jesse and I had a great time dancing...but I'm extremely worried about poor Courtney's professional photo's... I have a feeling my boobs will be the highlight of many shots as my dress did not want to stay up! Whoopsies! I won't be wearing this get up at anymore weddings that is for sure!

Here are some pictures of my girls hanging out in the back yard. We've spent the last few weeks working on our tans. And by tan I mean my "clear" translucent skin now being considered "flesh" toned. I'm a working progress! :)

Oh Baby Baby...its in the water!

This is late posting but I've been busy the past few weeks...and just now getting to post pictures of my sister-in-law Kimberlee's baby shower my mother-in-law Brenda and I hosted at my house on May 30th. I'm so glad we got to get the girls in the family together and I'm sorry I didn't get that many pictures of everyone else. (If you've taken any please email em to me!! I would love to have copies!) It seems like every other person I know is pregnant right now, there is something in the water again! I guess I'll stick to bottled... ;)
I found creating her baby shower gifts a little more fun than some of my other pieces. Her nursery theme is Winnie the Pooh and working on her letters for Baby Adrianna brought back a lot of childhood memories for me, I got to be a little more creative than I normally get to be this time around. It was a blast! Below is a picture of Adrianna's hand painted photo frame. Kimberlee mentioned she was going to have a shelf in the room so I knew I had to give her at least one Piglet (MY FAVORITE!) themed item to place on top of it!

Here is a picture of the Winnie the Pooh Letters. I did ever other one hand painted and embellished and then "sugar coated" glittered with ribbon accents. Since her crib bedding is mainly sage green I didn't want to do too much but still add a little variety of color so these letters could grow with Adrianna as she gets older and changes into more of a "big girl" room.

I think they turned out pretty good! She seems to really like em! Hopefully she'll send me pictures of the room all put together with the letters hanging on the wall!!! (HINT HINT!)

Kimberlee and her dad.

Kissin' Cousins!

He was just too cute!

Kim and Grandpa Tyer

Creating the baby shower cake on the otherhand was not as "fun" as I thought it was going to be. Appearantly Winnie the Pooh is not that "hott" these days. I searched high and low for cute plastic toys Kim could reuse for the baby to place on top of the cake as a topper. Not much luck, one associate at Toys-R-Us told me "Uh, yeah we don't have much Winnie the Pooh stuff, you should like check like resale shops or something!" Yeah, I wasn't going to put a used dingy toy on top of a cake that was feeding 20 people. So I settled for one plush stuffed Winnie and a few teethers. I figured she could at least use them when Adrianna starts those terrible teething months. It turned out cute but I wasn't as impressed with it as I wanted to be. I've got another baby shower next month so hopefully I'll perfect the art of cake making by then!!

My grandmother made the best chicken salad sandwhiches for the shower! They were delicious!!!

Farryn didn't get to stay for the shower, she had other plans but she at least got to touch the belly and ask Kimberlee at least 50 times if she could go to her house and see her puppies before she had to leave.
It was a great weekend, wish they could have stayed longer. I'm sooo thrilled to finally be an Aunt! I just can't wait to meet Baby Adrianna!!!

Lil Sista!

My beautiful lil sister Lauren graduated last weekend! I'm soo proud. I was hoping to get more pictures of the long awaited event but my camera was on the fritz. I have been so excited about her gift. I couldn't wait to post pictures of her graduation present...so here it is!

I figured this would be a great way for her to show her Tarleton school spirit! She wore it out later that night to celebrate.

I'm just so happy for this new adventure in her life. I know she'll do great things!
