Howdy!

So, taking everyone's advice I've finally got myself a 'lil blogger-ma-bob! We'll see how well I keep up with this...better yet understand it. I recently discovered a thing called "Twitter" (terrible name might I add!) and yeah...that thing confuses the heck outta me! So I'm gonna keep it simple and just "blog" away!

I decided to do this as a way for my clients and customers to get to know the real me...not just my company. I've always loved the "Mom & Pop" type stores. You open up the door and the 'lil old couple who have owned it for 35 years are sitting at a bistro table playing cards. They see you and oh so happily jump up and start talking your ear off telling you their whole life story! I just think that's awesome! And since I'm not yet a little old lady...and since I don't have a store of my own yet, well, we'll just have to settle for a website and a blog! But be prepared, I can and will talk your ear off!

So for those who don't know me...
Holly's the name, cowgirl livin' is the game! (That was so cheesy! I'm sorry!) I started my own company, Double H Holly's Hobbies, last October. I specialize in faux finishing, cowgirl jewelry and accessories, custom furniture and cabinetry restoration as well as children's custom letters and room decor. I have a passion for anything crafty and creative and often go crazy if I cannot get my ideas out in the form of a product! Anything I see that I fall in love with I often talk myself out of buying it because I know, some how, some way I will one day be able to make it myself! :) It's my only addiction thank goodness...and the hubby doesn't complain too much so I guess for the most part I'm harmless! I don't mean to brag here but I have a pretty darn good life! God has blessed me with two adorable little girls and an amazing husband!

I met my husband Jesse in high school when I was 15. We dated my freshman year. (I like to tell everyone we were high school sweethearts...just sounds cuter!) At the time he (thought he) was quiet the little ladies man though so I quickly ended things and moved on along. We remained good friends however. After high school we both ended up moving to College Station for school. We lost touch somewhere down Highway 6 but a few years and a few failed relationships later we both found ourselves back in Houston at the same time...both single. One casual Myspace message later and it was love at second sight! :) Jesse is the best husband and Daddy anyone could ask for. His only downfall...he can't say NO, and for a guy with 3 girls in the house that is a terrible weakness to have! ;) We aren't complaining though! He spoils us rotten in every way possible and we are so lucky to have him in our lives!

Farryn Rayne (my oldest) just turned 3 in January. She is my clone...my mini-me! I love her to death but she keeps me on my toes! She’s the sassiest 'lil thing! We have definitely reached that “WHY?” and “BECAUSE I SAID SO!” stage. Good times I tell you! I bring out the “Farryn-tude” by ignoring her repeated questions. She gets so annoyed she eventually says “What-errer Mama” or answers
her own questions with “Ugh, ah-right you says so!” Farryn is very entertaining to say the least and is constantly coming up with new inventive ways to get in trouble. In the past 6 months she has purposely peed on the bathroom rug like a dog (Yes..gross I know, but she thought it was freakin’ hilarious!), hid my phone numerous times, painted her stuffed bear's "earballs" with bright red nail polish, took a huge bite out of her unfinished birthday cake, tried to paint her lil sister's "earballs" with bright pink nail polish, painted the closet doors of her room with black (thank goodness water based) paint, decorated our bottom row of kitchen cabinets with "princess glitter paint pens" (Thanks Nana!), CUT her own hair with baby finger nail clippers, tried to flush my keys down the toilet, tried to flush an entire roll of toilet paper down the toilet, found the hidden nail polish in Mama‘s top drawer and gave her self a “tattoo“, received Disney Princess stamps for her birthday which she used as make up, Learned the dance to “Stanky Leg“ on BET while I was giving her sister a bath....I mean come on! If that’s not fun I don’t know what is! Aunt Sarah threatens to sneak her a package of permanent markers…I say BRING IT! The newest thing happened yesterday when trying to get her to take a nap. I hear the soft singing voice of an angel…..”You see my face.. uh…gives you HOPE, gives you HOPE! Come my way…gives you Hope, gives you Hope” I walk in to catch her rocking out on her bed (air guitar and all) and ask her to repeat what she’s singing. She kept saying “You know Mama…the Give you HOPE song…play it in yer truck!” And then it dawned on me….All American Rejects song titled “Gives you hell!” ;) At least she is substituting the word!!! I now know that I will have to monitor everything she hears on the TV or radio!

Jesse and I had our (first together) second 'lil girl Charlyse "Charlye" Ava on October 20th...after 3 short days of labor! We named her after my grandfather Charlie and his grandmother Ava. She is perfect in every way and growing like a weed! She’s the biggest ham, weighing in at 18 lbs and only 5 months old…off the charts on her growth. She’s developing so quickly. Pulling herself up, sitting up by herself, eating baby food, scooting around! Every day its just something new. She rolled over for the first time on March 1st. I know that might now sound interesting to anyone else but for a Mom all the “lil firsts” are pretty darn important! She’s the sweetest natured baby! I think God decided all the fun and games were over after the first 3 months of colic and decided to throw us a bone and give us the happiest 'lil baby girl anyone could ask for. She smiles and laughs at everything…my heart just melts. She’s growing her hair in finally…the verdict is in…..RED! Yep, not sure exactly what shade it will be but its definitely coming in red-ish and we’re thrilled! She still looks NOTHING like me but that’s okay, they change constantly! As for more babies in our future (because for some reason everyone is already asking that question)...well, we'll have to wait and see! Jesse wants a little boy of course to carry along his last name but I'm not really a "pleasant" pregnant lady so we're looking into adoption! ;)

So...if you made it to the bottom of this, GOD BLESS YOU! Thank you for stoppin' in and I hope you've enjoyed what you've learned "all about me". Stay tuned for new updates...I've got lots of stories to tell!!
